Aiming to replicate the retro feel and addictive one-more-go-style gameplay seen in Nintendo’s classic, the game features 22 levels spread out over four different stages. You only have three lives to beat the entire game, so this really does sound like a true, retro-like experience.
It’ll be available on Switch from 4th July and for a limited time, you’ll be able to buy it for $10.04 / €8.70 / £8.03, down from the usual price of $14.99 / €12.99 / £11.99.
Interestingly, if you also like to buy games on Steam, that version will be launching a month earlier with a tantalising challenge for its players. The game’s developer is offering a reward of $5,000 to whoever can complete the game first, with additional prizes for high scores (Switch players will likely miss out on the $5,000, but the high score challenge is available to all until 5th September):
- First to the kill screen: $5000 (Only valid until 6th June, Steam only)
- Highest Score (other than the winning contestant): $1250
- 2nd Highest Score: $1000
- 3rd Highest Score: $500
- 4th-9th Highest Scores: $250
